# "failed on item..." Flickr Import

I have been looking to use the FlickR importer albeit I appreciate it is in “Experimental” phase. It looks like I do put in the correct key and URL, however it fails with “failed on item x” (on all photos) in the error log. The normal log has no indication on failure:

I translated a another post which suggested adding a line to the WP-Config file, but could not work out which log this then enriches.

I also noticed that there is no Wiki page, is that as it is Experimental? If I can work it out, I would be happy to draft an English version.

Hi @Tintin, welcome to the Tainacan community! :tainacan:

I’m checking with the team to better understand the current status of our Flickr importer and how far its development has progressed.

In the meantime, I suggest trying an alternative approach: importing the Flickr photo links using the [CSV importer.](https://tainacan.github.io/tainacan-wiki/#/importers)

In your CSV file, you can add the Flickr URL to the `special_document` field, making sure to include `url:` before each link, as in the example:

This way, the Flickr URL will be used as the item’s document during the CSV import.

Please let us know if this approach works for you. In the meantime, I’ll continue checking the current status of the Flickr importer with the team.

Hi @Maria_Cecilia, thank you for your reply. I am happy to use the CSV importer. I was just hopeful the Tainacan tool would save me the effort of bulk exporting and processing the photo URLs from Flickr. Thankfully there are quite a few guides online for this.
