I have a question - I have a need to use new taxonomy term in existing collection, it is already existent in the collection but as a metadata. Is there an easier way to convert metadata to taxonomy, or I’ll have to do everything manually?

When you say that the term is already existing as a metadata, do you mean a text or a select-type metadata?
There is no automatic way to convert from different types of metadata, but you could easily export your collection as CSV and then edit the current metadata column to be a taxonomy column. If the taxonomy and the metadata taxonomy exists then the term will be created when you re-import your collection.
