Problem with slideshow

Hello,

We are a public library from Hungary and we want to use the Tainacan plugin with Blocksy theme to present our collection of paintings.
Our problem is the next: After uploading the images and metadata, we would start the slideshow but it can play only the first 5 or 6 images. The next and previous buttons also no longer work.

We tried several versions of Tainacan on 5.7.3 and 5.8.1 Wordpress as well, but after a while the problem occurs in all of them.

UPDATE:
It seems, the problem in the browser only occurs in view above 1400 px.

Please help us solve the problem!

It’s really nice to hear from Hungary, I’m curious to know more about your project! We are here to help with any help that you need.

That said, what you’ve just mentioned seems in fact to be a bug. It problably happens because there is a pagination logic on this component that needs to decide to load more items based on the screen size and position of the slider… I’ll open an issue so we can keep track of it. We’ve been pretty busy these days but hopefully we’ll find a moment to look at it.

We were so happy when we found this plugin!
We have a collection from a famous Hungarian painter, called Lipót Herman. We would like to make this collection available online to those interested. We should create the website soon, but now we are very stuck with this bug…:frowning:

Out of curiosity @vsvkinformatika, as we try to debug… can you list to us which plugins are you using?

These are the plugins:

  • Tainacan
  • Tainacan Support for Blocksy
  • Elementor
  • Loco translate
  • Redirection
  • Under Construction
  • UpdraftPlus

I noticed that the slideshow only stops in a few collections, not in all of them.
We use Hungarian accented characters, like “ő”, “é”, “á”, maybe it can be related to this?
In the file names of the images there are numbers, lowercase and uppercase letters, and “_” character. e.g. K3_F91_v2_40.png.
We are also thinking about what is the problem…

That is a good sign that the error is not exactly what I was expecting, which is why I asked about the plugins…

Nah… this I think its pretty common, we have many examples like this.

Just an update here to whoever reach this topic: after testing with @vsvkinformatika private link, we were able to identify the issue and hopefully the fix will be released on 0.18.7 :crossed_fingers:t2:
