Taxonomies are not visible

I think I made a very stupid failure.

  • I created a first collection
  • I created taxonomies
  • I enabled the taxonomies to the collection
    I can’t see and edit the taxonomy while creating an item in the taxonomy: Account: is site admin
    What did I miss?

Hi @ralfh!

This is a common mistake. When you Enable Taxonomies for the “Tainacan Collections” post type, you are allowing the categorization of the collections themselves by that Taxonomy, not their items. Items are organizable by any Taxonomy via the collection (or repository) metadata.

So to clarify:

  1. The Epoche, Region and Themen term that you are seeing there will only allow you to filter your collection in a collections list scenario (check the collection list in the admin and you’ll see a small dropdown in close to the sorting options).
  2. If you want to use these terms to categorize your collection Items, you do not need to enable the Taxonomy for the “Tainacan Collections” post type. You must add a Taxonomy Metadata to your collection which will allow you to define terms in the item form.

Yeah Collection Taxonomies are a very recent feature (released in version 1.0.0) and we haven’t told much about it despite the release post. @rodrigo_freire lets add a reminder to put hits in a page someday.
